MINI ELECTIONS!

This was an unusual shoot as Mini had given the dealers some themes on which to promote their range of cars, Broad Oak Mini in Ashford and Canterbury had decided on an election theme where each sales person would promote a particular model in the range. I had seven staff to cover across the two dealers, the only stipulation was that the photos had to be in portrait due to the fact that they were going to be used as postcards and A1 posters in the showroom (something the sales staff were not aware of!). I used a mixture of interior and exterior setting within the two showrooms and with all of the images used a single 580EX flashgun off camera on a lighting stand, this was to mix the ambient light and give a more balanced look to the images. Ideally some of the shots would have worked better as landscape images to get the width of the car in the picture, but with the 24-105mm lens fitted it gave me a mixture of creativity with the wide angle end of the lens.
